If you're like me, your childrens' handmade wardrobes contain LOTS of dresses, some skirts, tops and maybe a couple of pairs of pants and shorts thrown into the mix. But a jacket? Perhaps not. Enter the "Blouson Bomber Jacket", a unisex pattern which makes creating a handmade jacket totally achievable! It's easy to sew and quick to come together. It has cute circular side pockets which are a cinch to insert and the jacket can be dressy or casual depending on your fabric choice. Best of all, you can make one in either woven or stretch fabric to match or coordinate with your other gorgeous handmade pieces.
Thanks so much to all of you who have already supported Peach Patterns by visiting our new website and purchasing the pattern. Don't have it yet? You can get one here OR, better still, scroll down to enter the "Blouson Bomber Jacket" Giveaway where 6 copies of the pattern will be given away at the end of our 3 day blog series.
A huge thank you is also due to the promotional sewing team who were so enthusiastic about this project and so generous with their time. Today (and over my next 2 blog posts) I wanted to introduce you to some of them and to showcase their gorgeous jackets and photos.
First up (and also in the feature photo above) we have Genevieve @gegiegrossmann. Genevieve's stylish girl is the lucky recipient of many a mama-made outfit and she always looks amazing in what she wears. The gorgeous floral fabric is a scuba and so has a moderate stretch (a great choice for this design).
Next we have a jacket made by Lottie for her boy (who has the sweetest blonde curls). Lottie has tested a couple of my girls dress patterns and it was so great that she was able to make something for her little man as well. The jacket is superbly finished and I love the way it brings his outfit together.....
Our third and final jacket for today was sewn by Amanda @kapera.handmade who has also been a fabulous Peach Patterns tester over the past year. Amanda has such a great sense of style and always adds unique touches to the things she sews. I have to admit when she gave us a sneak peek of the fabric she wanted to use for this one I assumed she would be using the floral for the main fabric and the solid for the pocket but she surprised me by doing it the other way around and I have to say I LOVE the result.
Enter our giveaway below and on next Wednesday 13 September I'll randomly select 6 winners who will each get a copy of the "Blouson Bomber Jacket" Pattern.
